Spawning from Melbourne, Australia, Death Metal bastards Embodied have been smashing audiences over the head with a blockbuster since 1997. Releasing their first demo “Slaves of the Ancient Machine” to much acclaim, Embodied shortly went through a number of line-up changes. With a few years keeping things quiet, the band ended up with the solid line-up of Craig, Dave, John, Doug and Andy Continuing throughout the next few years with shitloads of live-shows, the band kept up writing new songs, eventuating with the release of their first crushing full-length, 2005’s “Destined to Burn”. Recorded at Bakehouse studios, the album is balls-out heavy, melodic death metal, with impressive cover art by drummer Craig Rogers. With a triumphant launch show, the album was very successful and showed a band with much power and passion.

Sadly, this line-up was shortly dissolved and the band were again put on hold to seek new members. In 2007, the band recruited Nick and brothers Marcus and Erik into the band, and a new, more extreme song-writing direction evolved. The first show with the new band marked the 10 year anniversary for the band, with a packed to the rafters show at The Arthouse (Embodieds favorite stomping ground) in Melbourne. Within the next few years Embodied continued writing new material and playing shows around Australia, to much head-banging and beer-swilling approval!

After releasing a demo of a few of these new tracks, In September 2009, the band entered Three Phase studios to record their new album with Sam Johnson engineering and producing. “Perception Perverse” was released in August 2010 to much praise, a vastly faster, heavier, more varied and modern release, proving the band were not stagnating within their genre.

Throughout the years Embodied have shared the stage with some of the greats of Australian and Overseas metal acts, such as Hate Eternal, Fuck I’m Dead, Dismember, Deeds of Flesh, Psycroptic, Astriaal, Macabre, Damaged and piles more. With plenty of shows coming up to promote the new album, and the writing process started for the next strike, Embodied continue to thrash audiences with their old-school catchy death metal assault.
